Havant to Eastern Road Bile Ride

Out for my first bike ride in quite some time, tonight that I would give the bike a little service and a few patches on the wheels.

Have to say it always seems like a good idea to get on a bike and go for a ride but after a while and a few little inclines my legs thought otherwise.

Still was good fun and some great weather.

Check out my ride on Strava: https://www.strava.com/activities/1038200180/shareable_images/map_based?hl=en-US&v=1497559931

Picture was taken from my stop off point at Portsmouth Watersports Center.

Day 4 – Shanklin Chine and Dinosaurs

Today was a jammed packed day with an early visit to the Shanklin Chine as we where there before the gates even opened. Have to say though it was a beautiful location and some great sounds coming from all the birds and wildlife found wuthin the Chine.

Moving on from that we took the little lad to the Dinosaur Isle to see the dinosaurs. Think here he has already discovered what he wants to be when he’s grown up.

Love this, a moment from Freddie. Not really to much to say other than if you know him you know what this means. #happyholidays #gozza.xyz #isleofwight #love

Time for lunch as Freddie tucks into some cream tea. #happyholidays #isleofwight #gozza #lunchtime

Day 3 – Well that wasn’t what we expected

So today we planned to pop over to the Needles for a quick walk around then see about going to the Old and New Battery.
The day started very cold and windy and most of the attractions closed but luckily the chair lift was working. Took the lift down to beach for a great walk then back up again some time later.

Next we decided to walk to the battery which apparently is only a 20 min walk. However not knowing that we cannot drive to the destination and the other way to get there is by walking we set on our way. Over all the walk took far longer than 20 mins so be prepared, it was also very hilly so make sure you have your walking shoes on.

Below is some of the pictures from the day.

Started the day by looking at this amazing landmark. Been around for many generations and never really changed much. It makes life a lot easier in getting down to the beach. #happyholidays #isleofwight #theneedles

Once at the bottom i couldn’t help but look up at the chairs going over my head. #happyholidays #isleofwight #theneedles

Looking at the cliffs on the beach at the needles you can find some great colour sands #happyholidays #isleofwight #theneedles

Taking in all the sights from the beach. Looking towards the needles. Don’t let the sun and bright sky’s cool you, it was very cold. #happyholidays #isleofwight #theneedles

The walk towards the old battery at the needles come with some amazing views. #happyholidays #isleofwight #theneedles

Two out of 3 seemed happy with the view, Fred’s didn’t even realise the walk was up hill and the effort that was out in walking to the top 😂🤔😴😓 #happyholidays #isleofwight #theneedles

At the end of the walk we made a friend with Mr Fox following us back to the car to say bye! 🦊 #happyholidays #isleofwight #fox #theneedles

Day 2 – Isle of Wight Vampire hunt

So this morning we took a trip to the famous Garlic Farm, something that we always spoke about visiting when where to visit the island. After we moved across to Godshill as a quick visit and ended spending the rest of the day their.

Great start to the day by visiting the Isle of Wight Garlic Farm, fab place and well worth a visit if your in the island. 👍🚜 #happyholidays #isleofwight #garlic #garlicfarm

A Reflection on the last few weeks with work

So this morning i am in a slightly reflective mood, I have to say that I am very lucky to have to job that enables me to travel and visit events like I do. As you have probably seen in the last few posts i that i have put up recently I have been some what busy travelling around although to some great destinations.

The other week I managed to spend a week in Sweden, which by all accounts wasn’t to bad. There is not many jobs that would send you abroad and treat you as well as what I was treated.
I managed to get some great photos and meet some nice people, I can also tick another Scandinavian country of my list leaving just one more to go (Finland).

Then last Friday I managed to spend the day taking in probably my favorite view by sitting at the top of the Emeriates Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth, on a serious note though I was there to do work. It was actually an event hosted by ESET but without the hard sell which was great. There was a couple of speakers that really had you thinking about privacy on the internet and some interesting points on security in general when it comes to mobile devices and IT.

Over all I feel that i am privileged to have a job which enables me to do such things and I just wanted to post something to say that i am truly grateful for these opportunities that i have.

It just goes to show that with a bit of hard work and tenacity you can get to where you want to. Although I feel this journey still has a long way to go.
